Project Description

The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square, with the support of Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari, has initiated a medicine distribution program at the Self-Help Group for Cerebral Palsy (SGCP) starting from 4th April 2026 and continuing as an ongoing service activity. The program primarily focuses on supporting children with cerebral palsy who suffer from seizures, ensuring regular access to essential anti-seizure medication.
A total of 12 children aged 3–16 years from low and middle-income families have been benefited through this initiative. Under the program, 46 bottles of Proate syrup have been distributed to support continuous seizure management.
Alongside medicine support, the program has emphasized caregiver education. Parents have been made aware of the importance of regular medication adherence, basic seizure management techniques, and first aid response during seizure episodes. This has strengthened home-based care and improved confidence among caregivers in handling emergency situations.
The initiative aligns with the club’s focus on Disease Prevention and Treatment under maternal and child health, aiming to improve quality of life and reduce complications associated with uncontrolled seizures in children with cerebral palsy.
