Project Description

Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari delivered a talk program on “Awareness in Cerebral Palsy in Nepal” as a Guest Speaker at the Rotary Club of Newroad City on 24th May 2026.
An interactive discussion was held among the club members regarding the causes of cerebral palsy, prognosis of affected children, available rehabilitation services, and the challenges faced by children and adults with cerebral palsy and their caregivers in Nepal. Members also discussed how Rotary can support these children and their families in the future through community-based programs, awareness activities, rehabilitation support, and inclusive initiatives.
The session concluded with a positive discussion on future collaboration between both Rotary clubs and Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome subcommittee District 3292 in RY 2026-27 to work together at the community level for children and adults with cerebral palsy, aiming to improve awareness, early intervention, rehabilitation, and quality of life.
Impact/Outcome
• Increased awareness among Rotary members regarding cerebral palsy and related disabilities in Nepal.
• Discussion on possible future Rotary involvement in rehabilitation and community support programs.
• Strengthened collaboration for future community-level projects supporting children and adults with cerebral palsy.
